Name:
Chris Brazel

Age:
"Young at heart"

Job:
Company director, Love Where You Live Feng Shui
Pty Ltd

How long have you been a fengshui specialist?
Fifteen years. Before I specialised in this area I was employed by the University of New England for 18 years where I was in charge of health and fitness.

What exactly do you do?
I teach my clients they are a product of their environment, they create their environment subconsciously and their subconscious is a reflection of their moods, attitude and feelings. Everything that surrounds you in your home or office - the colours, placement of furniture, pictures on the wall, even your car, right down to your set of keys and shoes - is a representation of what you think and feel. It tells a story. I teach my clients to look at the story they are creating and if it's not what they want then how easy it is to change it.

What particular skills or qualifications are needed? I believe it all started with a natural talent, then I further developed it with learning all the energy of the body and the mind through Oriental medicine and natural therapies. Having said that I'm qualified in acupressure, reflexology, and kinesiology and also completed courses in Reiki.

Typical day at work?
My days are never the same. I travel throughout Australia as well as overseas, having clients in Serbia, London, Hong Kong, Canada, the US, Dubai and even Brazil. Some days I am designing and working with large corporations while other rl Talking shop days I could be working with a local family who just wants to get their life back on track. Other days I could be presenting at one of my workshops. Then another day I could head off and do a radio segment or be part of a TV segment. However, I spend days changing furniture, pictures around, or choosing colour for the home or office, and sometimes even working with the gardens and choice of plants.

What's the most rewarding part of your career?
Being able to help people change for the better and to bring out the best; to help them reach their full potential; taking a sad house under my wing and changing it so as to make it a happy one; to take a work area or business that is failing or having staffing problems and turning it around by helping them apply feng shui to their workplace.

Most challenging part?
None. I do not do anything that doesn't challenge me or that I don't like.
Proudest career achievements so far?
Having people walk into a home, office, restaurant or corporation and recognise my work - to know that I designed the area simply because of how great it felt.
