Queenslander Style House Renovation
BEFORE:   AFTER:

The barely there driveway and front entrance was transformed at minimal cost to a warm and inviting entrance with an original and inviting appearance. A house that now welcomes you home every time you return to it.

The careful use and placement of stone, plants and water at the entrance to this home produce a balanced and harmonious entryway. Colour is also used to add to the overall feel. The dull aluminum garage door is transformed into a dynamic feature which contrasts with the yellow trim.

The new colours provide structure, form and balance to what was an uninviting entrance to this home.

Main Entrance

BEFORE:    AFTER:

The front entrance to the house itself was bland and uninviting, and we transformed it into an inviting and welcoming entrance with no structural alterations and at a very modest cost.

The glossy black window frames, the clay floor tiles and the strategic placement of plants contribute to the Oriental feel. Warm earthy floor tiles replace the drab concrete floor, and the use of colour and texture gives this area a life of its own.

The exterior and the entrance to a home are very important, and are often overlooked by homeowners and designers. I believe that a warm and inviting home is essential to an persons well being. That feeling of coming "home" and being welcomed home by the homes personality and character.

Kitchen

BEFORE:  AFTER:

This drab and uninviting kitchen was cut off from the rest of the house by a dividing wall. The kitchen had a feeling of isolation about it. The negative energy flows were tangible and distinctly uncomfortable.

We cut down the dividing wall to half height to open up the kitchen and allow the flow of energy between the kitchen and living areas. The result was dramatic and immediate. The moment the wall was cut down you could sense the free flow of energy.

The kitchen had become one with the rest of the house and a dull, boring kitchen was transformed into a light, airy and inviting room. A pleasure to be in.

Downstairs Area

BEFORE:    AFTER:

This dull and uninviting area downstairs at the back of the house was unusable wasted space. Suitable only for storage and tending to accumulate junk.

We should never have areas like this in our buildings especially our homes and places of work. They attract and accumulate negative energy in the same way they attract and accumulate junk and things that really should be discarded.

The Feng Shui solution is simple and yet complex. It is simple in the use of colour, texture and design without involving (in most cases) expensive structural alterations. It is complex in the relationships between the elements within the area, the careful selection of colour, and the selection of design elements.

The end result is a negative wasted area being transformed into a bright and cheerful area suitable for entertaining friends or just relaxing.

Downstairs Garage

BEFORE:   AFTER:

The garage beneath the house was not being used so we converted it into a home office. No structural alterations were made and this area can easily be turned back into a garage if necessary for resale purposes.

This is another excellent example of wasted space being transformed into pleasant and productive areas that are a delight to spend time in.

Timber shelving and storage, pale lemon walls and the earth tone floor complement each other in harmony and balance. Folding doors at the back open the area up for teaching.
